It is hard to believe another year has gone by, and yet time stands still.
Our thoughts are with you.

know how. We miss you terribly. You are always in our thoughts and we keep
the joy you brought us closely in our hearts every day.

Thinking of you dearest Odette, today, March 4.
Lots of love and peace to Jill, Garrett, Trystan, Beth and Mirabelle (who I
haven't met but is extremely cute!). We have not forgotten and will never
forget that special and remarkable girl.

Dearest Odette, I know we weren't necessarily the closest of friends...but
it's amazing how much you can bond with someone you mop a cafe floor with
twice a week. I have thought of you so very often, both before and after
March 4 of that dreadful year...I hope that somehow you know how much
you've inspired me to live as truthfully and openly as I can, to love
simply and fully and to experience life with my eyes and heart wide open.
I continue, to this day, to draw strength and courage from memories of our
conversations together, and when I feel unsure or overwhelmed I remember
you and the legacy you left...and feel hopeful again. We owe you so much
Odette. I will never forget you or the impact you had on me. I'm looking
forward to a Wednesday afternoon soy chai and 'D&M' with you on the sunny
side of Venus one day...

She was an amazing individual.

Odette would never want you to blame yourselves. It isn't your fault.
What you are going through is every parent's nightmare. It is positive news
that you are making progress with the investigation and that you seem to be
on track to finding the truth. Meanwhile we continue to think of Odette
as the gorgeous girl we will always remember.

My beautiful girl the picture is slowly emerging how the French Medical
system and lack of medical procedures sadly let you down. It appears to
be soley responsible for your early death. Please forgive us for ever
entrusting your precious life with them. I love you forever mumxxxx

every breath I take I feel you and think of you.
Sleep peacefully our lovely Princess. Too good for this selfish and

I just heard Barry on the radio. It made me think of you and I in a drama
rehearsal, practising "Lola" over and over again. What other 16 year olds
knew Barry Manilow off by heart??!
Still hurts Detts, a year on. God I miss you.

In my mind I often hear Odette's wonderful melodious speaking voice - we
always knew there was a singer inside and are so thankful that you have
posted these beautiful clips for us to share. She was a generous and
supportive friend to Jenna, always turning up to recitals to cheer on her
jazz ventures. Such a beautiful girl.

Detts also had a great talent for laughing and making others laugh. When I
first met her at Telopea in about year 8 I remember thinking "This girl has
the loudest laugh I've ever heard".

Odette was always very modest about her musical pursuits. She'd always tell
me what she was up to, and in 2007 she told me that she was pursuing
singing and taking lessons. Although I knew she was very musical, she was
so humble about her singing that when I went to see her in "The Kelly
Women" I was blown away! She had obviously found an instrument that she had
a great talent for.

Detts had very funky sense of style. She always looked hip and fabulous -
even when she wasn't trying. Detts was also decidedly 'fashion forward'.
When we last spent time together in Christmas 07 she tipped me off that
bonnets would be the next big thing. Watch this space ladies!

When at uni, Detts would start the year by enrolling in each and every
class that took her interest. As a result, the first weeks of her term were
filled with chaos as the omnipresent Detts tried to attend 6 or 7 classes
each day.

Detts loved the Bette Davis movie Big Business
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094739) as a child.

When young Detts used dinnertime for not only eating, but also practicing
her acting skills in the reflection of the glass behind the table. She'd
test facial expression after facial expression, until she got it *just*
right.
